本日ご紹介の庄川挽物木地は１９７８年（昭和５３年）７月１４日に経済産業大臣より指定を受け、庄川木工挽物会が産地組合でしたね

庄川挽物木地の産地組合がある市町村と観光スポット
庄川木工協同組合は、砺波市（となみし）にあります
砺波市（となみし）とは
富山県西部に位置し、庄川と散居が織りなす花と緑のまち
東京からはどのようにして行きますか？
東京から砺波市への行き方ですが、新幹線＋バスがおすすめです
新幹線からバスへの乗り換えがおすすめなのですね
トータル所要時間は約３時間３０分で着くことができます
東京駅 → 新高岡駅（北陸新幹線 はくたか：約２時間４０分）
新高岡駅 → 砺波市役所前（バス ６０／１６０庄川町線：約３５分）
新高岡駅から１本乗り換えで着くのは良いですね
また、砺波市には、鉢伏神社（はちぶせじんじゃ）という観光スポットがあります
鉢伏神社（はちぶせじんじゃ）とは
戦国時代に亡くなった人を弔い、平和と幸せを祈るために１９５９年に建てられた
社が防雪の囲いで守られているのかぁ

その鉢伏神社がある砺波市における、庄川挽物木地の歴史について見ていきましょう
庄川挽物木地の歴史とは・・・
はじまりは、江戸時代後期の１８６６年（慶応２年）に木工職人の越後屋清次が、木材集散地だった庄川町に移住して工房を開き、挽物づくりを行ったとされております
庄川町は木材が集まる場所だったのですね
当時の領主である前田家が、伐採させた木材を庄川へ流し、数万本の木材を集めたと言われております
木材を川で流して運んでいたのかぁ
初期のころには、人力や水車を使われていましたが、次第に電動のろくろが使われるようになり、木材を加工して木地づくりが行われました
ろくろとは
粘土を成形して焼く陶芸の中でも電動で動く回転して円形の物をつくる機械
効率の良い製造を行っていったのですね
製造工程としては、原木選定 → 板びき → 板づみ → 木取り → 荒挽き → 乾燥 → 仕上げ → 拭漆塗 の工程を経てつくられますが、職人の右側にろくろを取り付け、回転軸と平行して座って挽く横ろくろの技法が特徴です
